Complexity of restoration is not at all related to the importance of the print. These turn of the century engravings (above and below) are but two of as many as 12 prints from the same series in the King scrapbooks. The ideal treatment, which includes washing, repair, and flattening, is perhaps too expensive for the entire series.

J.H. Seymour, Plate XVII from Anatomy
Engraving. 10½" x 8¼"
The print above is representative of the condition of the series before treatment. The print below has been conserved.

These engravings are by Joseph H. Seymour, an American engraver who worked in Worcester for Isaiah Thomas from 1791 to 1795 and in Philadelphia from about 1796 to 1822.
